Hi my name is Alison
For 20 years I worked in IT as a Network designer. When I became a single parent I wanted a job that would fit in with my children and childminding seemed like the perfect choice. It has in fact worked out to be a brilliant choice. I love it. I have found it very rewarding and my children love all the extra fun that the babies and the children bring.
Our typical day includes going to a playgroups, libraries, the beach and parks, we are spoilt for choice in Brighton. I often meet up with other childminders so the children socialise with lots of other children. They look forward to seeing all their friends. Depending on the day we could have lunch out, like a picnic in the park or go home for lunch. We always come home for nap time. I have lots of toys, a play kitchen and dressing up box that is always in easy access for the children to choose from. I provide a quiet area with blankets and cushions and a huge teddy called Charlie bear. I also use that area as a reading corner, we read books to Charlie bear and he often reads to us. The children love that. I have a well-equipped garden which provides free flow play so that the children can come in and out as they please. My home is a happy safe and secure environment where all children can explore, play & thrive, develop and above all have fun!
You are more than welcome to come and visit my home and meet me. Just contact me to arrange.
I have a 7 seater car with age-appropriate child seats.
I am fully insured in my home out and about and on the road specifically for childminding.
I use an advanced system called Baby's Days to record each child's development in line with EYFS. (An Ofsted requirement)
